What is "Laser Tag"?

Laser Tag is “high tech” hide-and-seek. Fun laser tag games can be played indoors or outdoors. Players tag each other by "shooting" infrared, just like a TV remote but bigger! Since there are no projectiles (the laser taggers only emit light) this means the taggers are harmless and eye safe. The number of hit points can be adjusted. The game time can be configured. There are also cool light and sound effects.

Laser Tag is a game for the young and the young-at-heart.

Players use "taggers" that emit a harmless infrared beam. It is just like a TV remote but bigger! Players tag one another and game props to win at various missions. Games can be run indoors or outdoors, in a forest setting or in a purpose-built arena.

How to Win Laser Tag!

The simplest game of laser tag is a "Team Elimination". This is where the players are divided into two roughly equal-sized groups. Each gamer gets 5 hit points. When a gamer is tagged 5 times their tagger is de-activated and they run back to their base camp to get a re-activation. Once re-activated they can run back into the game for a bit of payback.

The winning team is one with the least number of re-activations when the time is up.

Games can be run indoors or outdoors, in a forest setting or in a pop-up maze.

What is the difference between Laser Tag & Laser Skirmish?

Laser Skirmish is outdoor laser tag. They are the same. While "laser tag" was initially associated with indoor games and "laser skirmish" with outdoor games, the terms can be used interchangeably nowadays. Some indoor laser tag arenas call themselves laser games or laser skirmish. Whereas some outdoor businesses refer to themselves as laser tag.
