The colours of the Australian flag hold deep symbolism:The red, white, and blue feature in the top right-hand corner of the Australia Flag as a miniature Union Jack (or Union Flag).
The rest of the flag features the Southern Cross.
The Southern Cross is a famous star formation or constellation in the southern hemisphere’s night sky.
This pattern comprises five white stars — one small five-pointed star and four larger, seven-pointed stars. The very large 7-pointed star in the bottom left-hand corner of the flag is the "Commonwealth Star."
