The biggest hit, by far, is always meat pies. It is truly a timeless classic!
Medieval pies are a little different from our modern ones.
Back in medieval times, they didn’t have filo or puff pastry.
For authenticity, you could make your dough from scratch using a recipe from the Middle Ages. Instead, I made my dough from scratch following an authentic medieval recipe (with some personal adjustments).
If you like cooking — I highly recommend it. If not, party pies will fit the bill.
From there, loaves of bread are a great choice (for a feast, a white beard is best). Have some butter to go on top with some cut meats and cheeses.
If you’ve got a lot of guests, consider making a roast. These are great because once you’ve done the prep work, you just shove it in the oven, and a few hours later — done!
