Player Centred Entertainment
This is a fun and easy Christmas decoration to make with the kids that will give them some screen-free time.
(Depending on how old your kids are, maybe Mum can do the part with the scissors.)
You will need:
Start with a square piece of paper.
Choose a colour to match the rest of your Christmas Decor.
Step #1 - Fold the square piece of paper in half to create a crease.
Step #2 - Open and fold in half. Repeat in the opposite direction.
Open it and fold it in half diagonally.
And again in the opposite direction.
Then fold.
Repeat on the other side.
Step #4 - Then fold the corner in towards the centre crease.
Repeat.
Step #5 - Flip the paper over and do the same on the flip side.
Now cut off the excess.
Open the flap and bring the edge into the centre.
Repeat on the other side.
Turn it over and do 2 more.
Step #6 - Make 3 cuts on each side.
Step #7 - Make sure the incisions don't go all the way to the middle.
Match the cuts on both sides.
Now fold from the inside of the cut to the edge.
Lift the flap up.
Then continue on to the next "tree branch".
Step #8 - Turn the paper Christmas Tree over and do the branches on the other side.
And voila!
You have a paper Christmas Tree.
That's how to make an ORIGAMI Christmas Tree for your table.
Mums are often looking for ways to switch off and unwind with their kids. Especially over the holiday period. Paper art is one popular (and therapeutic) outlet. This Christmas think analogue. It's just another way to do a digital detox.
