This year we are getting in on the act with these exciting trends.
We both know that organising a birthday bash, a school event or a vacation care program is kind of like riding a rollercoaster.
Jump in and discover the freshest trends from the live-action gaming world.
Undoubtedly, the party or event you organise reflects the personality and importance of your loved one(s).
A birthday party for your darling son or darling daughter will be a bit different to an end-of-term rewards day or school camp activity.
But whatever event you are organising, these trends can inspire you, and ignite your imagination.
Think of these trends as a bit of a smörgåsbord.
Take what you find tempting and leave what you find unsavoury.
Everyone loves to capture magic moments for posterity, or simply to post on social media!
It's a great idea to take a photo with the entire party group.
If there is a V.I.P. at the event, such as the birthday boy or girl. Then take a photo with the birthday person and each of their friends.
Trending now is to take the pic in front of a themed photo backdrop. This doesn't have to be a monogrammed media wall.
You could use a hedge in the backyard. One of my favourities is Brunfelsia (Brunfelsia latifolia) is one such 'vintage' plant. You may know it by its common name: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. This evergreen shrub grows to around 2-4m tall and 2m wide. The foliage is dense and a smoky green colour. This is a good size for a backdrop.
But whatever bush you use, just try to position the camera so there is consistent, even foliage.
Or you could rent a camo net and drape it over the back of a door or from a curtain rod in front of a window.
Our camo nets are 2m by 4m so a perfect size for photo backdrops.
As many of our wallets have been hit hard by the cost-of-living crisis, savvy party planners are looking for ways to soften the blow.
The backyard party is trending.
Backyard parts are intimate and, of course, close to home!
Think of it a bit like the "Lipstick Effect".
Mums and Dads, Teachers, and Educators want to plan a special event that's a "mini treat".
Something remarkable.
Instead of blowing the budget at a theme park or pricey Family Entertainment Centre.
Smart people are planning a party at home or on campus.
Everything old is new again.
One of the hot party trends in 2025 is to conjure a feeling of nostalgia.
One way to do this is to play some re-imagined traditional games like "Capture the Flag". It's capture the flag, laser tag style! In this game, there are no flags made of material. Rather the flags are virtual.
The players need to nab a virtual flag by shooting their opposing team’s base.
They then race back to their base and shoot that, thereby depositing a flag for their team.
Nostalgia takes centre stage as retro games make a triumphant comeback, offering an immersive experience that bridges generations.
Here, at the intersection of memory and innovation, players can tap into the reservoir of childhood joy, creating unforgettable moments for kids and teens.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
Event organisers are considering everything from the invites to the decor to be more eco-friendly.
In 2025 party planners want local, fresh party food and drink that is easy on the budget and the environment.
People are becoming more environmentally conscious and are looking for ways to reduce waste. This means using real plates, cups, and utensils instead of disposable ones.

Perhaps it is the rise and rise of podcasts? As we reported in our February Newsletter, guest audiobooks are trending.
Did you know you can rent a retro phone and record messages from your party-goers? Suppliers like "Off the Hook" or "At the Beep" are just two who can rent you retro phones so your guests can record a personal message to you.
These messages are authentic, unfiltered, and often hilarious!
Doom scrolling is on the way out.
It's time for a digital detox.
But you still want something fun and engaging that the kids and teens will actually want to do.
Going over the top for the party is so yesterday.
Giant inflatables, massive multi-tier themed cakes, and paid party entertainers are on the way out.
